Research Description: This research explores methods of notation that enable musicians who can and cannot read music to collaboratively perform through-composed and improvisatory sections. Through studying alternative approaches to notation and consulting with living composers, it explores ways of bringing together musicians from diverse training backgrounds and lived experiences.
