Research Description: As part of the three-site investigation of jazz education in higher ed across the United States, this presentation focuses on preliminary results from the first case study. Kansas City, an acknowledged historically important jazz scene, we found a deep sense of community among educators, students, venues, organizations, and professional musicians.
