Clinic Description: Truly artistic improvisations transcend “correct notes, swinging rhythms, and trendy licks.” They “tell a story”, like great works of fiction. This presentation, borrowing from the work of Stravinsky, Hindemith, Dickens, Coltrane, and Parker (Bird) will demonstrate strategies, tactics and devices that contribute to great story telling and developing one’s “voice.”
