Research Description: An examination of composer Bob Brookmeyer's works for large jazz ensemble grouped into three distinct periods; The Early Years, The Vanguard Years, and The New Art Years. An analysis of music examples from each of these distinct three periods will provide a clear evolution of Brookmeyer’s writing style.
