Research Description: Taking a socio-political and pedagogical approach, this presentation introduces the music rehabilitation programs offered by nonprofit organization, Institution Programs Incorporated, largely active from 1979-1999. Led by jazz educators in Oklahoma, this program's output included diverse jazz recordings by inmates. Insight into the curriculum and approach by directors will be analyzed.
