Born in Romania, Cory studied piano and trumpet at “Ion Vidu” school of music. He came to US in 1989, and graduated from CSU Long Beach in 2001 with MM Conducting, starting at Downey HS, teaching all bands and choirs. Directed his groups at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Apollo, Hollywood Bowl, Disney Hall. His Jazz Choir performed at the 2018 ACDA conference in Pasadena and won Reno Jazz Festival. His Jazz Ensemble won the 2019 Berklee and Monterey Jazz festivals, Downbeat winner 2018-19. Received the Fidelity “INSPIRETHEFUTUREAWARD” in 2006 and is music director at Emanuel COG in Anaheim since 1996.
