Tahira Clayton is a vocalist, compsoer, educator, and in demand bandleader and featured vocalist based in New York City. She currently serves as co-vice president of the Women in Jazz Organization (WIJO), based in NYC. In addition to her work with WIJO, Tahira has traveled internationally to present and perform lectures on her research entitled, “The Dangers of Jazz: Sexism in Society.” As of April 2019, Tahira’s writings and research are set to be published in 2020. Tahira is a graduate of the University of North Texas.
