Bob Sinicrope is a consummate educator. He founded Milton Academy’s Jazz Program in 1974 and remained its director until his 2024 retirement. Winner of several DownBeat, MusicFestUSA, IAJE and Berklee Festival awards, the program has produced many fine professional musicians most notably Aaron Goldberg and Steve Lehman. Recently, Bob was inducted into the DownBeat Hall of Fame for Jazz Education. In 2007, Bob became the inaugural recipient of the John LaPorta - Jazz Educator of the Year sponsored by IAJE and Berklee College of Music. He served as President of the Jazz Education Network (JEN) President (2014-2016) and was on JEN’s Board from 2009–2018. Bob has made his mark internationally over the past six decades with clinics in 30 countries on six continents. Teaching credits include Jamey Aeberold’s Summer Jazz Workshops (40+ years), VictorWooten Berklee Bass Weekend Workshops (seven years), Jazzwise Summer School in London (12 years).Bob also directed weekend workshops for guitarists, bassists and drummers that preceded the JameyAebersold weeklong workshops (15 years). He has special ongoing relationships with South African music programs and is responsible for the delivery of more than $310,000 value of books, instruments and aid over his 18 visits to South Africa.His MakeMusicCloud online interactive Pathways towards Greatness series of improvisation books have been used in 63 countries. SherMusic has published his Walking Bass Line Construction books that have been described as “the most helpful beginner’s guide to walking bass lines ever published!” His articles have been published in Bass Player, DownBeat, JazzED, and SBO magazines.A much in demand bassist, Bob currently leads two groups The World Leaders and SoundsGlobal. His credits include performances with Eric Alexander, Shirley Bassey, Jerry Bergonzi, Steve Bailey, Randy Brecker, Sara Caswell, Hal Crook, John Clayton, Billy Eckstine, Bill Evans (saxophone), Jon Faddis, George Garzone, Aaron Goldberg, Tiny Grimes, Dan Haerle, Abdullah Ibrahim, Tommy Igoe, Papa Jo Jones, Sean Jones, Grace Kelly, Joe Lavano, Babatunde Olatunji, Chris Potter, Rufus Reid, Bobby Sanabria, the Artie Shaw Band, Kenny Werner, Matt Wilson, and Victor Wooten.
